Phoenix Psychology Group is an independent provider of psychological services in the Midlands and operates from Phoenix House in Honiley nr Kenilworth, Warwickshire and Cornwall Buildings, Birmingham.

Adult Therapy

Referrals are accepted via a range of routes such as: self-referral; other health care professionals such as a GP or Psychiatrist; social care professionals such as Social Workers; and via health insurance providers and employee assistance schemes. 
Presenting issues might include: depression, anxiety and panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, phobias, personality difficulties, relationship issues, bereavement and loss, difficulties associated with childhood experiences, eating disorders, psychosexual issues, and psychological difficulties related to physical ill-health.

Our therapeutic receptionists have therapeutic training and experience and are therefore well placed to discuss your particular needs and create a good match with a therapist who can offer the appropriate training, therapeutic approaches, location and time to meet your requirements. Fees are dependent on a variety of factors and will be made clear in a written proposal prior to the beginning of therapy in order for you to be able to make an informed choice about your care.  The structure of your therapy may vary but as a guide, you would likely attend an hour long session once a week to begin with.

There are a broad range of therapists working with Phoenix Psychology Group (PPG) including but not exclusive to: Clinical, Forensic, Educational and Counselling Psychologists; Psychotherapists; Counsellors; and Cognitive Behaviour Therapists.  All therapists working with PPG are required to be registered and / or accredited with their relevant professional body such as: the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC); the United Kindom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP); the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).  All those working with PPG will also have undergone checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly known as a CRB check) and will hold Professional Indemnity Insurance.  A number of therapists working with PPG are registered with major health insurance companies such as Bupa, AXA PPP, Cigna and Prudential.

Some of the main therapeutic models offered are: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT); Psychodynamic Therapy; Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT); Person-Centred Counselling; and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).  Other approaches include schema-focussed, attachment-based and mentalization-based therapies, mindfulness and body work.  The range of training and experience among PPG therapists means we are able to meet most requirements therefore please enquire if you are seeking a particular approach not listed here.
